Our Village is suburban.
Most people live in apartments or one family homes.
The average family has 3-5 children.
When young people marry, they buy or rent their own place.
Transportation
Most people go to work by: public transportation, car, bike, walking. A lot of our community work from home.
Most students go to school by: school bus, car, bike, walking.
What modes of transportation do families own? Most families have one or two cars. There are many Hybrid cars. Each child usually has a bike, and often parents do as well. Walking is encouraged in the Village.

Topography
The topography of my area. Our Village used to be " raised up" from Chicago. We were on a ridge. Now everything has been leveled and is basically flat. Before development, the area was grassland and Chicago was mostly swampy.

We and a multicultural Village and also have residents who speak: Spanish, Japanese, French, German, Chinese, Tamil, Hindi, and many more languages.

What are the religions where you live? There are many religions: Christian (Catholic, Lutheran, Baptist, etc.), Jewish, Buddhist, Muslim, Quaker, and also a non-denominational House of Worship. There are also those who profess no religion.
Government
How is your area governed? We have a Village President and a Village Board. The people are very vocal and participate in meetings and committees.
